Are you looking for out-of-print books relating to the peace movement? If so send your wants list to Housmans Bookshop (5 Caledonian Road, Kings Cross, London N1 9DX) or email mo@housmans.com

Oxford University Press have just published a massive four volume International Encyclopaedia of Peace.

Below you can see one of the co-editors of the encyclopedia, Peter van den Dungen, in conversation with contributor Hisashi Nakamura of York University, at the launch event in Bradford School of Peace Studies in March.

Editor-in-chief is Nigel Young, probably best known to PN readers as co-author of Pacifism in the Twentieth Century. There are over 800 entries and “All major figures are covered, as well as major events, organisations, theories and much more.”

Unfortunately the Encyclopaedia costs £200 and even this is an introductory offer, valid only until the end of June. Then the price goes up to £300.

Because of the price Housmans Bookshop will only get copies in for people who have ordered and paid in advance (and don't mind picking them up from the shop, postage would be a lot more and would have to be charged for). We hope to have Nigel Young speaking in the shop on the Encyclopaedia, details will be announced in PN.

Remember! You have two months to order the Encyclopaedia at the discounted price of £200!
