Local residents have put together a moving mixture of images of war, local scenery, quotations, art and poetry to allow each of us to explore the meaning of Christmas at a time when our country is engaged in conflict in Iraq.
Kathy Mitchell, one of the creators of the Calendar, “There is something for everyone in this display. Christmas is the season of goodwill and peace. We want to remind ourselves that while we have been busy preparing for Christmas and enjoying our family celebrations, people are still suffering and dying in Iraq. ”
The Advent Calendar display started on December 1st with a new image being added each day. The complete Calendar will remain on display for the twelve days of Christmas.
