The streets ring with dissent

New York: The action was organized by the New York organisation ANSWER, the International Action Center and SNAFU, a support organization whose work involves providing support for US soliders and their family members who oppose unjust wars and military aggression. The organisation also provides education for potential recruits about their rights and the reality of military life. Demonstrators carried placards displaying pictures of both US and Iraqi casualties. During the action a number of other civilians joined in and three of activists present were arrested the week before during the Republican National Convention demonstrations.
