Foreign military intervention forces stationed in Macedonia since 1992
December 1992 UN Security Council Resolution 795 establishes UNPROFOR (Macedonia).
Spring 1993 First international troops arrive to patrol border with FR Yugoslavia.
March 1995 UN Security Council Resolution 983 renames UNPROFOR (Macedonia) UNPREDEP (UN Preventative Deployment Force).
December 1998 Government of Macedonia make a specific agreement with NATO, allowing NATO to effectively establish a permanent military presence in Macedonia.
February 1999 China blocks renewal of UNPREDEPs mandate, UN troops are withdrawn.
June 1999 KFOR troops ("Kosovo Force" is a "NATO-led force") enter Macedonia to provide logistical support for their troops working in Kosov@ and to patrol the border between Kosov@ and FYROM.
August 2001 Operation Essential Harvest takes place. A NATO operation mandated to "disarm ethnic Albanians".
September 2001 onwards Operation Amber Fox. A NATO operation mandated to "contribute to the protection of international monitors from the EU and OSCE".
