Campaign: Banners needed
Raise your Banners: a celebration of political song is a three-day event planned for 17-19 November in Sheffield (Joe Hill, the legendary political songwriter and trade unionist, died in front of a Utah firing squad on 19 November 1915). As part of the event there will be a display of banners representing struggles over the past 80 years. "So far we have some `80s peace banners and a couple of banners from the 1985 miners' strike promised, so banners representing other issues would be particularly welcome" writes Andy D'Agorne for the organising group.
