You are here: Frontpage > Issues > 2391 > Campaign: Banners neededRaise your Banners: a celebration of political song is a three-day event planned for 17-19 November in Sheffield (Joe Hill, the legendary political songwriter and trade unionist, died in front of a Utah firing squad on 19 November 1915). As part of the event there will be a display of banners representing struggles over the past 80 years. "So far we have some `80s peace banners and a couple of banners from the 1985 miners' strike promised, so banners representing other issues would be particularly welcome" writes Andy D'Agorne for the organising group. Raise your Banners, 100 Leader Rd, Hillsborough, Sheffield S6 4GH, S Yorks (tel 0114 255 0262 or 273 5354).
