Review: Atomic Ghost [poetry anthology]

John Bradley ed Atomic Ghost: Poets respond to the nuclear age Coffee House Press, $15.95: A substantial collection of poems concerned with living under the nuclear shadow. Most of the poets are from the USA, and almost all of those who aren't, are from Japan, so there are really just a few very particular experiences presented, but the poems are generally of a fairly high quality (contributors include Adrienne Rich, Denise Levertov, Carolyn Forche and Allen Ginsberg). The book as a whole can't quite shake off a certain text-booky quality, but it does have some good material in it.
